Slam Bang Boom Bazingaa! and a list of movies

Yes, its true I did spend 80% of my college life, sleeping and watching movies/series. Good movies, bad movies, soapy movies, happy movies, action movies, horror movies, cult movies, short movies…. everything…I watched a lot of everything. So does that make me an expert, a critic, a guru of some sorts. No, and that’s exactly where you come in. I know that I have watched a lot of movies, and I know I liked most, while disliked some of them, but until I tell you so, and you don’t agree; my opinion is exactly that, an opinion.

This series of blog will allow me to break from the private connoisseurs that we all become at some point in our lives, and discuss what most educated people discuss in this world (apart from religion) movies. I will share with you movies that you should watch and why, movies you should not watch and why, and other movie stuff that I can come up with which has a strong WHY. You must have noticed the main word here is WHY (movies is another but that’s moot cause you can’t correct me now). Its because just telling you to watch or not watch (for that matter to do or not do) just feels wrong, its a lot nicer, polite and vindictive when I give you the reasons.

One last thing is that this post is as two way as is possible. You tell me if you agree, or you don’t (please don’t forget the why). You tell me what movies I should watch, and which ones you are watching. You tell me how I wrote, and how I should write. So with this note in mind lets start off with our very first Slam Bang Boom Bazingaa blogi-sode (that’s an episodic blog, and not a spelling mistake).

The blog is about movies, and movies inherently are lists (not really but read ahead, and you would see). Have you watched that one, have you watched this one, don’t tell me you haven’t watched this one, really you have even watched this one. There is a list of movies you have watched, there is alist of movies you want to watch. Its just a list of names, that you have had the fortune/misfortune to witness on different sized screens. So the first post of Slam Bang Boom Bazingaa should be of a list, and a long one at that.

A few years ago, when F.B. was the new thing on the block, there used to be a list that used to do the rounds. It had the names of an odd 100 movies, and if you had watched around 80 of them, apparently you had no life. Of course, today its much easier to watch movies, but the essence still holds true, if you are watching too much movies (or spending to much time blogging) you have not time for the rest of your life and consequently YOU HAVE NO LIFE. Since its nerdy cool to be withdrawn these days, I bring to you the new list of “Life no has this one” movies (that was Yoda by the way, and if you didn’t get that reference, you are so out in the first round). The list does not necessarily have good or bad movies, its actually movies that a normal, average working JOE would not find his hands on. Some of these are real good, others are down-right awful, while the rest are more of an acquired taste. Its easier to score highly on them if you have an unlimited broadband connection and a good knowledge of IMDB and Wikipedia. Final note before we begin, I have skipped the sequels here and mentioned which I feel is the best of them. So anyways, go through the list below and tell me and the world, how much of a secret movie connoisseurs you are too. Post your scores, and be proud of it. Oh and by the way….if you have watched 40 of the below 50….you really don’t have a life.
